A New Democratic Voting System

Abstract

Equichain is a decentralized application (dApp) that is building the bridge between Web2 and Web3 by connecting voting polls and smart contracts. We aim to bring transparency, security, fairness, and scalability to the voting processes from state elections to corporate decisions. The dApp allows users to authenticate either by connecting their wallets or by filing their information. Each voter is assigned a unique private key generated by SNARKs as their private key (zero-knowledge proof), which is used to verify their eligibility to vote. Then, users will cast their votes with a matching public key that is open-sourced and will be stored as nodes on the Ethereum Equichain network. Across the network, individual users are notified of live updates of poll results. Equichain is compliant with voting laws and results can be verified on-chain with zero cost. 


Our product is optimized for the seamless onboarding of companies through customizable smart contracts that allow automatic rule enforcements, identity verifications, and poll calculations, without the need for intermediaries. Equichain is built on the Ethereum network, which provides the same functionality as Web2 voting protocols, but leverages the power of fast transactions while providing security and transparency. This eliminates fraud, increases voter participation, and reduces the cost and complexity of election administration.

Equichain addresses the challenges and limitations of traditional voting systems by offering a transparent, equitable, and accessible platform that enables voters to participate in the democratic process. Equichain aims to overturn traditional voting systematic challenges such as fraud, voter intimidation, counting errors, and limited access. 

Equichain would be a dApp that includes key features such as identity verification, node encryption, and live vote counting. Moreover, Equichain's smart contract architecture provides a base framework for corporations to customize according to specific demands and allow for automated vote tabulation, further enhancing the fairness and scalability of the voting process.
