PRODUCT MANAGEMENT INTERN
From ideation to implementation, I worked on re-imagining product listings by creating a new way to organise listings for the company and to list products as a seller.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
After realising how complex and timely it is to add and edit clothing tags in the backend system with only a limited number of item tags to choose from, I realised the need for a new automated system to sort each item’s listing tags in an orderly and intuitive manner.
FINAL SOLUTION
On the admin side, I designed a system to create/view listings. They are prompted with 4 descriptive input fields, which AI then runs to determine the item's clothing tags.
The following is a partial flow for admin to create a new listing.
Then, our trained NLP language model picks up on the descriptions and decides whether to use an existing tag to categorise the item or suggest a new tag.
Details of how I trained the model and the full admin product listing PRD can be sent by request.
On Basic.Space’s mobile app, I also designed a parallel feature for sellers to add/edit new listings.
Different questions were prompted to the seller depending on whether their item can be categorised as 1. clothing, shoes, bags, or accessories or 2. art and design. I separated the flows because after testing with the NLP model, the same prompts proved insufficient to generate tags for items of such different categories.
